Episode 6: No More Nonsense

A Lesson in Tolerance of Others

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[It is once again another nice day in the forest, where in the home of Archibald
Asparagus/Himalayan cat, we see him reading a book while sitting in his chair. The
book that Archibald is reading is "David Copperfield" by Charles Dickens.]

Archibald: Ah, 'David Copperfield', truly a classic, and one of my personal favorites.

[Archibald continues reading, until he suddenly hears the sound of knocking on his
door.]

Archibald: Now who could that be?

[Archibald then puts the book down before going to answer the door. When Archibald
opens the door, he sees Larry the Cucumber/Ring-tailed Lemur standing at his door
with a big smile on his face.]

Larry: Hi, Archie!

Archibald: Oh, Larry, what brings you here to this part of the forest?

Larry: I was wondering if you'd like to come out today? Jimmy and Jerry have invited
me to come and pick strawberries with them, and they were wondering if you'd like to
join us too.

Archibald: I'm sorry, Larry, I'd love to come, but I'm afraid I'm far too busy to go
strawberry-picking.

Larry: Oh, I understand. I'll tell them that you're too busy. See you later, Archie.

[After Larry leaves, Archibald then walks back over to his chair before he resumes
reading once again. After several minutes have passed, Archibald then hears his
door knocking again. This annoys him slightly before he gets up once again to
answer the door. When Archibald answers the door again, he sees that Mr. Lunt
was the one who had knocked on the door this time.]

Archibald: Oh, Mr. Lunt, what brings you here?

Mr. Lunt: Yo, Archie, I was wondering if you could help me out with a problem?

Archibald: I'm afraid I'm far too busy to help right now, Mr. Lunt. Come back when
I've got better time.

[Archibald then closes his door again after that, leaving Mr. Lunt still standing
in front of the door.]

Mr. Lunt: Boy, who would've thought that Archibald would be too busy to help me
find my missing watch?

[Mr. Lunt then walks off after that, before Archibald goes back into his chair and
resumes reading again. This time, 10 minutes have passed, before Archibald hears
his door start knocking again, annoying him once again.]

Archibald: Oh, who could it be this time?

[Archibald then gets back up to answer the door again.]

(Theme opens)

[When Archibald opens up the door again, he now sees that Junior Asparagus/Abyssinian
was the next one to answer his door.]

Junior: Hello, Archie.

Archibald: Oh, Junior. What brings you here?

Junior: I just thought I'd come by to see you.

Archibald: I'm terrible sorry, Junior. As much as I would like to visit with you, I'm
far too busy to visit right now.

Junior: Oh, maybe some other time?

Archibald: Yes, maybe some other time.

[Junior then leaves before Archibald closes the door again before going back to reading
his book once again. This time, Archibald is able to resume reading without anymore
interruptions. It is now later in the afternoon as Archibald has finished reading the
book before he decides to go into the kitchen to fix himself a tuna sandwich for lunch.
After fixing the sandwich, Archibald is about to eat the sandwich when he hears the
door knock once again, which annoys him even more. When Archibald opens the door again,
he sees Pa Grape/Guinea Pig at the door.]

Archibald: I'm sorry, Pa, but whatever it is, I'm too busy. Come back another time.

[Archibald then closes the door after that, leaving Pa still standing while looking
rather confused.]

Pa Grape: I wonder what's wrong with him? All I wanted was to ask him if he's seen my
glasses.

[Pa Grape then walks away after that, not realizing that his glasses are still on the
top of his head. Later, Pa then explains the whole situation to Bob.]

Pa Grape: It's the most peculiar thing, Bob. Archibald seemed to act like that he was
under a lot of pressure. And I was going to ask him where my glasses were too. Incidentally,
have you seen my glasses?

Bob: Uh, they're on your head, Pa.

[Once Pa realizes that his glasses are on the top of his head, is able to bring them over
his eyes once again.]

Pa Grape: Oh, thanks, Bob.

Bob: No problem, and I think you're right about Archibald, Pa. Just earlier this morning,
I asked him if he wanted to help me with fixing the shelves in my house, but he told me
that he was too busy.

Larry: (Off-screen) I'll say, Bob. He didn't even want to come with me and Jimmy and Jerry
to pick strawberries.

[Larry then walks up to Bob while carrying a large basket that is filled with strawberries.]

Bob: We were just talking about Archibald, Larry.

Larry: Yeah, I know, Bob. That's the reason I brought it up.

[Pa Grape helps himself to some of the strawberries in Larry's basket, at the same time
that Mr. Lunt also walks up to Bob, Larry, and Pa Grape as well.]

Mr. Lunt: You can say that again. He even didn't want to help look for my missing watch.

Pa Grape: That is peculiar.

Larry: What's wrong with Archibald? It's like he's getting tired of having us around.

Bob: I think you're overreacting, Larry. I'm sure that Archibald is just under some stress,
but he'll get over it soon enough.

Pa Grape: You better be right about that, Bob.

Mr. Lunt: Yeah, maybe if we acted nicer to Archibald, he'll be nice back to us.

Larry: Yeah, that may not be a bad idea at all, Mr. Lunt.

[The four animals then begin to make their way towards Archibald's home, but they haven't
traveled very far when Petunia Rhubarb/Sifaka starts walking towards them, with a rather
frustrated expression on her face.]

Petunia: I tell you, some people have serious attitude problems!

Bob: We know, that's what we're going to see Archibald about.

Petunia: You know who I'm talking about?

Larry: Yeah, Petunia, don't we know it.

Pa Grape: We're going to see Archibald to see if there's anything we can do to help him
feel better.

Petunia: I asked him if he could help me pick the weeds around my house, but he just brushed
me off, saying that he was much too busy.

Mr. Lunt: He told us the same thing when we tried to ask him for help.

[Soon, the five animals then make their way towards Archibald's home. Back at his home,
Archibald has now started out on another book, this time, "Pride and Prejudice" by Jane
Austen. After Archibald has read the first few pages, he suddenly hears his door knocking
once again, which annoys him.]

Archibald: Now who could that be now? I'm in no mood for any more interruptions.

[When Archibald opens the door again, he finds Bob, Larry, Pa Grape, Mr. Lunt, and Petunia
at his door.]

Archibald: What do you want?

Bob: We've come to see if you were all right, Archibald.

Larry: Yeah, if not, maybe we can help.

Archibald: I do not need your help. I am too busy as it is.

Pa Grape: Come on, Archibald. We're just trying to be nice.

Mr. Lunt: Yeah, don't shut us out.

Archibald: I'm sorry, but as I've explained before, I'm already under too much pressure
as it is! Now, goodbye!

[Archibald then closes his door after that, as Bob, Larry, Pa Grape, Mr. Lunt, and Petunia
are surprised that Archibald still stubbornly refuses to let them help.]

Mr. Lunt: How do you like that? He still won't help us or let us help him.

Bob: There must be a reason behind Archibald's stress.

Petunia: We know, Bob, but what?

[Soon, the five animals leave, before Archibald then goes back to reading the rest of his
book once again. Suddenly, he hears the sound of birds chirping very loudly, which annoys
him even more once again.]

Archibald: *frustrated* Can't a person even enjoy a moment of silence without any disruptions?!?

[However, the chirping sounds persist, annoying him even more.]

Archibald: That does it! If I cannot enjoy the peace of reading my book at home, then I'll just
have to go somewhere else to read it! And that's exactly what I'm going to do!

[With that, Archibald then picks up his book as he gets up out of his chair before he exits his
home and goes off even further into the forest to find a quiet place to read his book without
anymore disruptions. This time, Archibald has approached what looks like a dirt road, not
realizing that up in a nearby tree near the road, Aristotle is perched up in the tree before
he looks down to notice Archibald.]

Aristotle: I wonder what Archibald is doing out here near this part of the road? From the looks
of him, he appears to be under stress. I better find out what's going on.

[Just as Aristotle is about to fly down, he suddenly hears the sound of wheels rumbling down
the road before looking over to see a black truck driving down the road right towards where
Archibald is now walking alongside the road.]

Aristotle: Archibald, behind you!

[Archibald then perks up when he hears Aristotle, before looking to see the truck stopping
in front of him. The door of the truck then opens up before a man comes out from the truck
and starts walking towards Archibald.]

Archibald: Uh, hello?

Man: Well, well, well, what do we have here? This Himalayan cat should be a good addition
to our fighting ring.

[The man then picks up Archibald after that, which causes him to drop his book.]

Archibald: WHAT?!?!? Unhand me this instant, you brute!

[However, the man does not understand what Archibald is saying, so all he hears is angry
meowing. The man then starts to carry Archibald towards the truck, before Aristotle then
flies in to try and stop the man, but the man does not even pay any attention to Aristotle,
before throwing Archibald into the back of the truck, slams the doors, then gets back into
the truck and drives off again.]

Aristotle: This is terrible! The others must know about this!

[Aristotle then flies back into the forest to alert the animals about Archibald's capture.
Back in the forest, Bob, Larry, Petunia, Pa Grape, and Mr. Lunt are still frustrated about
the fact that Archibald was still too stubborn to help them or let them help him.]

Larry: What do we do now, Bob?

Bob: I'm not sure, Larry, but I am sure of one thing. The bible says that when we are nice
to someone, then they'll be nice back to us.

Mr. Lunt: But we already tried that, Bob, remember?

Bob: I know, Larry. Maybe we'll try again later.

[Before anything else can happen, Aristotle then flies up to the five animals while looking
very worried.]

Mr. Lunt: Here comes Aristotle, maybe he can help us.

Aristotle: Oh, thank goodness I found you.

Petunia: What's wrong, Aristotle? You seem rather shaken up.

Aristotle: That's just it, I saw Archibald near the road just 5 miles away when a truck from
the Animal Fighting Ring showed up and the driver, Slats MacKenzie, came out, grabbed him
and threw him in the truck, then just drove off towards the city!

Everyone else: WHAT?!?!?

Mr. Lunt: Wait, who's Slats MacKenzie?

Aristotle: He's only the meanest Animal Fighting Ring proprietor that ever lived. I saw him
grab Archibald and put him in his truck.

[Once the others hear of this news from Aristotle, they begin to realize that Archibald
may be in real serious trouble this time.]

Bob: Come on, guys. Archibald needs our help.

Larry: But, Bob, we don't even know where to find this Animal Fighting Ring.

Aristotle: I do, because I know where the road is when Slats captured Archibald.

[Aristotle then takes to the air before flying back towards the road, with Bob, Larry, Mr.
Lunt, Pa Grape, and Petunia following after him. After 10 minutes have passed, the group
make it to the exact same road where Aristotle last saw Archibald. Fortunately, there are
a bunch of tire tracks on the road, which Aristotle identifies as the Animal Fighting Ring
truck.]

Aristotle: This is the place where Archibald got taken by Slats.

Petunia: But where could he be now?

Aristotle: From what I saw, the truck went that way!

[Aristotle takes to the air once again while following the tire trucks towards the direction
of the city, while Bob, Larry, Mr. Lunt, Pa Grape, and Petunia follow after him again. Meanwhile,
in the city, the Animal Fighting Ring truck has now pulled up to what looks like a large building,
with the letters 'AFR' adorned on the side. After the truck pulls up to the front of the building,
Slats then comes out from the truck before he walks over to the back of truck, and opens it up,
where Archibald finds himself getting a leash placed around his neck before Slats begins to
forcefully pull him towards the building.]

Slats: Come on, you furry four-legged flea market! Move those legs!

[After Slats brings Archibald and the other animals inside the building, it is then revealed
that there is a row of cages filled with various other animals that had been brought in so
that they would be forced to engage in animal fights. Slats is then met up with three more
men, who are happy to see that their boss has returned.]

Slats: Bruno, Rocky, Jake.

Bruno: So glad that you've returned, Boss.

Slats: Take this pitiful animal that I've found outside the city and cage them up.

Archibald: Pitiful?!?

Rocky: No problem, Boss.

Jake: Yeah, Boss, you can consider it done!

[The three men then take Archibald's leash from Slats before pulling Archibald down the hall
of the building. Before Archibald can react, he suddenly finds himself shoved inside a cage,
while some of the animals, which are a raccoon, a weasel, a caracal, a fennec fox, a badger,
a coyote, and a German Shepherd, watch on at this new arrival. After Archibald finds himself
in the cage, he tries to get out to no avail.]

Archibald: Let me out of here! I am a civilized patron! I do not belong here!

Bruno: Pipe down in there, kitty!

Archibald: I demand to see a lawyer about this act of injustice!

Raccoon: Save your breath, buddy, we're all prisoners here.

Archibald: What is this place anyway?

Coyote: Haven't you heard? This is the Animal Fighting Ring, the AFR for short.

Badger: Yeah, it's the place where Slats MacKenzie and his goons keep lots of animals that
they use to engage in animal fights.

Weasel: Animals like us.

Fennec Fox: So, what's your name, pal?

Archibald: I'm Archibald, but a few of my friends back home call me Archie.

[These other animals also introduce themselves as Luke (raccoon), Arnie (weasel), Heidi
(caracal), Kane (fennec fox), Farley (badger), Nora (coyote), and Morris (German Shepherd).]

Archibald: I am acquainted to make your pleasure.

Morris: You seem like the polite type, Archie.

Kane: Yeah, where do you get it from?

Archibald: Well, I was mostly taught by my parents on it long ago.

Luke: Yeah, but here in the AFR, politeness doesn't apply because it's every animal for
himself here.

Archibald: And why is that, may I ask?

[Before any of the other animals can answer, Slats then approaches Rocky.]

Slats: Alright, Rocky, the next 2 fights are coming up in 5 minutes, and I need to you
make sure that they are according to plan.

Rocky: You can count on that, Boss. I can assure you of that.

Slats: Excellent. I would like you to arrange for Spike to fight against Fang and for that
Himalayan cat to fight against Bruiser.

[Archibald becomes surprised when he hears this news, before turning his gaze back towards
some of the other caged animals.]

Archibald: Now, who pray tell is this Bruiser?

Farley: He's supposed to be one of the meanest fighters of the AFR, raised under the guidance
of Slats himself.

Archibald: I cannot believe that it's come to this, me, ending up in an illegal fighting
ring.

[Meanwhile, Bob, Larry, Pa Grape, Mr. Lunt, and Petunia have made it to the city, where
they had managed to locate the AFR truck in front of the AFR building, thanks to Aristotle's
guidance.]

Larry: What is this place?

Aristotle: This is the Animal Fighting Ring, or the AFR for short.

Mr. Lunt: Is there any place around here to get a cheeseburger?

Bob: Mr. Lunt, we're not here to eat, we're here to save Archibald.

Pa Grape: Aristotle, do you know of any secret passages into this place?

Aristotle: We can enter through the transom windows or through the basement windows, but the
best method of entering is through the ventilation ducts on the top of the building.

Mr. Lunt: Now that's part of my speciality!

Larry: Then, through the ventilation ducts it is!

Bob: Let's go, guys!

[The five animals then start to make their way towards the top of the AFR building, before
they finally make it to where the ventilation ducts are. Back inside the building, Jake
then opens up Archibald's cage, and grabs hold of Archibald before he starts carrying him
to the arena of the building. Archibald is notably shocked by what is happening.]

Archibald: All I wanted was to spend some quality time by myself away from my friends so
that I could read my book! And now look where it's led me!

[Jake then carries Archibald through the hall, until bringing him to the arena room of the
building. Archibald is then placed into a chute that sends him into the arena, to face off
against his opponent. Seconds later, Archibald's opponent turns out to be a really tough
and muscle-bound pit bull. Slats then announces the match through a microphone.]

Slats: Ladies and gentlemen, in the right corner, we have here the challenger, Bruiser!

[The sounds of people cheering are heard, until it is revealed that this was actually just
a recording, before Bruno turns off the stereo, before Slats resumes his announcement.]

Slats: And in the left corner, we have the defendant forced to fight against Bruiser, Greeny!

Archibald: *offended* Greeny?!?

Slats: And now, let the match begin!

[Rocky then rings the starting bell as the match then begins between Archibald and Bruiser.
Bruiser then starts to lumber his way towards Archibald, who is rather nervous.]

Bruiser: I'm really going to enjoy this!

Archibald: So, your name is Bruiser, am I right? *chuckles nervously* My name isn't really
Greeny, it's Archibald, but some of my friends call me Archie and-

Bruiser: Stop talking and fight me!

Archibald: Fight? Me? I don't fight, I'm British!

[Of course, Bruiser then lunges forward but Archibald is able to dodge before Bruiser can
even lay a hit on him. Bruiser crashes to the ground before picking himself up again before
he charges back towards Archibald. Meanwhile, in the ventilation ducts, Bob, Larry, Mr. Lunt,
Pa Grape, Petunia, and Aristotle are now making their way through the vents to see if they
can try and find Archibald.]

Mr. Lunt: Which way do we go now, Aristotle?

Aristotle: I'm not sure, Mr. Lunt. But the key is to listen carefully through these vents
and find out where Archibald is.

[Soon, the animals are quiety, before they begin to hear the sounds of Bruiser snarling and
Archibald yelling out fearfully, which catches the animals' attention.]

Bob: That's Archibald, and it sounds like he's in trouble!

Petunia: Oh dear, I hope nothing bad has happened to him.

Pa Grape: I just hope that we're not too late.

[The animals then follow the sounds, which come from the vent on the left, before peering
through one of the vents down below in time to see Archibald still trying his best to avoid
fighting against Bruiser.]

Petunia: It's too horrible! How are we going to save Archibald from that brute?

Bob: I think I have an idea, guys.

[Back below in the arena, Bruiser then snaps his ferocious jaws at Archibald, but Archibald
is able to dodge as he tries to run back towards the edge of the ring, before getting kicked
by Jake.]

Jake: Come on, you mangy fleabag! Fight!

[Back in the hallways of the building, Rocky is reading a magazine, while keeping a close watch
on the other animals that are still locked up in their cages. However, before he can react, he
winds up getting a burlap sack placed right over his body, thanks to Larry and Petunia. After
a few seconds, Rocky then falls over to the ground.]

Larry: Great job, Petunia!

Petunia: Thanks, Larry! High five!

[Larry and Petunia then high-five each other after that, happy with their success in taking out
Rocky. The other animals that are locked up are surprised at what just happened.]

Heidi: Wow, thanks for taking out Rocky.

Morris: Yeah, who are you guys?

Larry: I'm Larry, and this is Petunia. Have you seen a friend of ours? He's a stiff-upper-lipped
Himalayan cat who goes by the name of Archibald.

Nora: Oh, you two must be friends of Archibald.

Kane: He told us about you guys.

Petunia: Yeah, but the rest of our friends are here as well.

Arnie: So there is hope for us after all!

Luke: Not yet there's not yet.

Farley: Yes, we're not freed just yet.

[Back in another area, Bob, Mr. Lunt, and Pa Grape had managed to take out Bruno by tripping him
with a piece of string, which causes him to fall to the floor. Once Bruno has fallen, he ends up
getting tied up afterwards. Back near the arena, Jake is still watching Archibald trying again
and again to avoid getting hurt by Bruiser, before he is suddenly knocked into unconsciousness
when Aristotle whacked him with his wing.]

Bruiser: You're kitty kibble this time, Greeny!

Archibald: I'm warning you, Bruiser! I have a higher degree of fear! And I am really exhibiting
that fear right about now!

[Bruiser then leaps forward into the air towards Archibald, who is now too scared to move. However,
just in time, Aristotle quickly flies out as he grabs Archibald by his shoulders with his talons
and carries him out of the way and out of the arena, before flying up into the vent. Bruiser
becomes shocked when he sees that he is now heading straight for the wall so he ends up crashing
into the wall really hard, giving him a lot of pain and taking him out of the fight. Slats is very
angry when he sees that Archibald had been carried away.]

Slats: Come back with one of my fighters, you feathered pest!

[Back in the hallways, Larry and Petunia had been opening up all of the cage doors, freeing all
of the animals that had been trapped, just as Bob, Mr. Lunt, and Pa Grape show up once again.]

Bob: How's it going, you two?

Larry: Just great, Bob! We've just about freed all of the trapped animals!

Bob: Great, now we just need to wait for Aristotle to return with Archibald.

[Seconds later, the sounds of clattering are heard from inside the ventilation duct, before
Archibald then falls out from the vent, before Aristotle flies out as well.]

Larry: Archibald, are you okay?

Archibald: I am now, thanks to all of you. My good friends.

Mr. Lunt: I suppose now's not a good time for you to help me find my watch?

Archibald: As I recall, Mr. Lunt, I distinctly remember seeing you put it under your hat just
earlier this morning.

[When Mr. Lunt reaches under his hat, he becomes surprised when he sees that Archibald is right,
and that his watch was under his hat the whole time.]

Mr. Lunt: My watch! Thanks, Archibald!

[However, before anything else can happen, Slats suddenly steps into the room, looking very
angry about what just happened.]

Slats: You ruined my fighting ring! Do you know what I do to insubordinate animals who don't
compete in fights in my ring?!?

Archibald: No, but I think we have a pretty good idea!

Aristotle: Come, we must leave while we still have time!

[The Veggie Animals, along with all of the other animals, run as fast as they can to escape
from the building, while Slats angrily chases after them. The animals are able to escape by
going through the transom windows. Slats then runs out from the door afterwards, before realizing
in horror that the police have now found the location of the AFR building.]

Policeman # 1: Slats MacKenzie, you're under arrest for running an illegal animal fighting
organization!

Policeman # 2: Come along quietly.

[The police then arrest Slats and his henchmen, while all of the animals watch from afar, before
cheering, happy that Slats MacKenzie has been arrested. Once that's over, Archibald then turns
his gaze to some of the friendly animals that he had befriended.]

Luke: I gotta hand it to ya, Archibald. You're alright.

Archibald: Oh, it was nothing.

Morris: Nothing? If it weren't for you and your friends, then we'd still be held captive by Slats
and forced to fight in staged animal fights!

Archibald: I suppose so, and I want to thank all of you for helping him to learn in tolerating
my friends.

[The other Veggie Animals are happy to hear that Archibald now had better tolerance of them.]

Larry: That's great, Archie! *smiles*

Aristotle: Exactly. As the bible tells us, "With all humility and gentleness, with patience,
bearing with one another in love. Ephesians 4:2"

[Some of the other animals are confused by what Aristotle means.]

Bob: It means that God gives us the power to be tolerant of others.

Archibald: I am terribly sorry for the way I acted earlier today.

Larry: Aw, don't mention it, Archibald. Even if you don't always agree with what we do, you're
still our friend no matter what.

[Archibald feels even more happy, knowing that his friends still accept him for what he is,
even if he does act rather stuffy most of the time. Soon, the Veggie Animals decide that it's
time for them to go back home to their home in the forest, so they say goodbye to all of the
freed animals before going on their way once again, until they exit the city and return to
their home in the forest once again.]

(Ending credits playing)
