Episode 35: An Ear For An Ear

A Lesson in Dealing With Insecurity

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[It is another Summer day in Pinnacle Forest, this time in the late afternoon. In the
forest, the birds are chirping and the squirrels are scampering through the trees around
them. Down below, Jimmy Gourd/Jackal is taking a little walk through the forest while
humming a little song to himself, feeling rather contented without a care in the world.
While Jimmy is walking, he comes upon a group of sparrows who are able to take notice
of the notch in his left ear.]

Sparrow # 1: Hey there, nice ear notch!

Sparrow # 2: Yeah, what happened to your ear? Did you cut it against a butcher's knife
or something!

[The sparrows then start laughing after that, while Jimmy becomes shocked and surprised
when he realizes that the sparrows are teasing him about his ear. This causes Jimmy to
run deeper within the forest in shame after that. In another part of the forest, Jimmy
is now sitting on a rock next to the river while looking at his reflection, where he
sees the notch in his left ear.]

Jimmy: *sadly* I don't understand it. I never really thought much about my ear, but
after what those sparrows said, I'm beginning to wonder if having a notch in my ear
means that I'm not as special as I think I am?

[Jimmy still sadly sulks about the notch in his ear, at the same time that some rabbits
have come nearby, when they also notice the notch in Jimmy's ear.]

Rabbit # 1: Oh, look at the big tough jackal with the notch in his ear!

Rabbit # 2: Yeah, isn't having an ear notch supposed to make you tough?!?

Rabbit # 3: As if, you don't look so tough!

[The rabbits then laugh after that, which only makes Jimmy feel even worse about the
notch in his ear after that. The rabbits leave while still laughing, while Jimmy still
feels terrible about being teased for the notch in his left ear. At that moment, Juodas
the wolf has been slinking through the foliage, when he notices Jimmy sitting next to
the river all alone.]

Juodas: Well, if it isn't that potbellied jackal again. And he's all alone too. This is
my chance to have a little bit of fun with him.

[Juodas then starts to stalk towards where Jimmy is still sitting next to the river, while
still feeling ashamed of the notch in his ear. Jimmy is so ashamed that he isn't even aware
of the danger that is approaching him.]

Jimmy: If only there was a way to change how my ear looks. Then maybe all the other animals
would stop teasing me about my ear.

[At that moment, Juodas then leaps out of the foliage in front of Jimmy after that.]

Juodas: Maybe I could tear off your ear and use it as a chew toy! *cackles*

Jimmy: *scared* JUODAS!

Juodas: That's me, don't wear it out!

[Jimmy is so scared from Juodas's presence that he is too scared to do anything, but does
manage to quickly gain the instinct to run for his life, just as Juodas starts chasing
after him. Jimmy still runs for his life with Juodas still chasing after him.]

Juodas: Come back here, you fat notch-eared paunchbag! I'll catch up to you yet!

[Jimmy still runs for his life until he comes upon the stream, where a small tree stands
next to it. Jimmy then starts to climb up the tree, just as Juodas jumps up to try to get
him, but lands back down on the ground again. The tree then leans over to the other side
of the stream, as Jimmy starts to crawl up the tree, before Juodas also starts to crawl
onto the tree after Jimmy. Of course, Jimmy is able to get off the tree, before Juodas
realizes his predicament, just as the tree acts as a trebuchet, catapulting him across
the forest while screaming in anguish. With Juodas taken care of once again, Jimmy still
continues running for his life, but doesn't watch where he's going, before he suddenly
finds himself falling off a cliff while screaming in anguish, hitting against the sides
of the rocks that are on the cliff.]

(Theme opens)

[Back in Pinnacle Forest, Bob the Tomato/Red Panda and Larry the Cucumber/Ring-tailed
Lemur are spending time with each other at Bob's house, when they hear the door knocking.]

Bob: Larry, could you please get the door?

Larry: No problem, Bob.

[Larry then goes to answer the door, and when he answers it, he finds Jerry Gourd/Jackal
standing at the door while looking very worried.]

Larry: Hello, Jerry.

Bob: Jerry, what's wrong?

Jerry: Have you seen Jimmy anywhere?

Larry: Uh, I don't think so.

Bob: We've not seen Jimmy all day today, Jerry.

Larry: Yeah, where he is?

Jerry: I dunno. The last I saw of him, he went to take a walk, but he never came back.

[Bob and Larry then look at each other after that, before they both offer to help Jerry
look for Jimmy. Aristotle and Isabella then show up after that.]

Aristotle: Hello, all. What's going on here?

Jerry: We're looking for Jimmy.

Isabella: Where is Jimmy?

Bob: We don't know, that's what we want to know.

Larry: Yeah, Jerry's very upset because he doesn't know where Jimmy is.

Aristotle: As a matter of fact, I think I know where Jimmy went to. The last I saw of him,
I was flying overhead the deep parts of Pinnacle Forest, when I saw him looking really sad
about something, when Juodas appeared and chased him deeper within the forest. I tried to
follow after them, but they went too far into the forest.

Isabella: Yes, and if we go to the spot where Juodas chased Jimmy away, then maybe we'll
be able to find where he went to.

Bob: Yes, that's a good idea!

[With that, Bob, Larry, Jerry, Aristotle, and Isabella then start to head off towards the
area where Jimmy had gotten chased away by Juodas. Down below in a valley just Southwest
of Pinnacle Forest, there is a small cabin that stands next to a large rock cliff, at the
same time that an elderly woman with gray hair, wearing a long brown jacket over a light
green shirt, and a pair of blue jeans is taking a walk while collecting special herbs that
are to be used for healing. The woman continues walking when she comes across Jimmy, who
is laying on the ground in pain from having fallen down the cliff. The woman is surprised
when she sees Jimmy laying on the ground.]

Woman: Oh my! Poor little creature!

[The woman then walks up to Jimmy to see if he is okay, while Jimmy is alright, just as
Jimmy groans in pain after that.]

Woman: Oh good, you're alive.

[The woman then picks up Jimmy after that as she starts to carry him towards the direction
of her cabin. Inside the woman's cabin, the woman has laid Jimmy in a small bed made of
a box lined with pieces of cloth, as the woman is tending to Jimmy's injuries. Five more
animals are also standing next to the woman, as they are awaiting to see if the new arrival
is alright. The animals are a male serval, a male numbat, a female otter, a female parakeet,
and a male chinchilla. The serval is a little bit stern about the woman's actions.]

Serval: I don't know about this. That jackal is a stranger, and you know how I feel about
strangers.

[After a few seconds, Jimmy starts to wake up after that, as he fully gains consciousness,
but finds that his head hurts so much.]

Jimmy: Oh, boy do I have a headache. I am in so much pain.

Woman: Just lay down a bit, and it will help.

[When Jimmy sees this woman, he becomes surprised, wondering how he ended up inside the
woman's cabin.]

Jimmy: Where am I? How did I get here?

Woman: Calm down, little one. I was the one who found you hurt so I brought you here to
treat your wounds.

[Jimmy then winces in pain after that once he realizes that his body still feels kind of
sore from taking that fall down the cliff.]

Jimmy: Oh yeah, now I remember. I was chased by Juodas, then I fell off that cliff and
landed at the bottom. No wonder I'm in so much pain.

Woman: My name is Eleanor.

Jimmy: Mine's Jimmy.

[When Jimmy picks himself up, he looks around at the inside of the cabin, before looking
to see the other five animals in the cabin.]

Jimmy: Why are these animals here?

Eleanor: They're animals that I've nursed back to health when they were hurt or sick. You
see, I take care of animals that have been hurt or have gotten sick.

[Eleanor then introduces these animals to Jimmy after that. The serval is Arliss, the numbat
is Terrence, the otter is Gertie, the parakeet is Maura, and the chinchilla is Daryl. Jimmy
then waves at the five animals after that, but Arliss still feels a little bit adamant.]

Arliss: I don't know about this. There's something about this jackal that I just don't
trust.

[Jimmy then becomes confused after that, before Eleanor goes to comfort him.]

Eleanor: Don't pay any mind to Arliss, he's always distrustful around strangers.

Jimmy: I think I see what you mean. After all, I guess I am a stranger here.

Eleanor: Yes, but you need not let that worry you. Perhaps you can stay with us for a while.
I am about to fix dinner, so you must be hungry.

Jimmy: Uh, me? Hungry? I don't remember if I am hungry or not. Well, that is... I... uh...

[However, Jimmy's stomach grumbles rather loudly and hungrily after a few seconds, as a
sign that he is indeed really hungry. This causes Jimmy to hold his stomach with one paw
while his cheeks are bright red with embarrassment.]

Jimmy: *chuckles* Well, I guess maybe I am really hungry after all. *chuckles nervously*

Eleanor: Well now, being lost is one thing, but an empty tummy, that's another. I'll get
dinner prepared as soon as possible.

Jimmy: Now that's music to my ears.

[Meanwhile, back in the deep parts of Pinnacle Forest, Bob, Larry, Jerry, Aristotle, and
Isabella are still looking for Jimmy, but are very unsuccessful in their search.]

Bob: It's no use, we've looked all through the deeper parts of the forest, but we still
haven't found any sign of Jimmy anywhere.

Larry: Now what do we do?

Aristotle: Do not worry, my friends. I can assure you that we will find Jimmy soon enough.

[After a few seconds, loud grumbling sounds are heard, before Bob, Larry, Aristotle, and
Isabella turn their gazes towards Jerry, who is holding his stomach with both paws.]

Jerry: Sorry, I'm hungry.

Aristotle: Okay, we'll spend the night here and have supper.

Larry: But where do we even find food out here?

Isabella: Well, I know for a fact that this area of Pinnacle Forest has a plethora of
fruit trees, berry bushes, edible wild mushrooms, and wild onions, so we should be able
to collect enough for all of us for a meal.

[The group then go off to look for food while they are to spend the night in the area
before they are to continue their search. Back at Eleanor's cabin, Eleanor has just
started cooking dinner, while Jimmy is smelling the air, able to recognize the delicious
smells of the different foods being prepared.]

Jimmy: Mmmmmmmm, roast chicken, mashed potatoes, coleslaw, fried rice, biscuits, cheese
casserole, green beans, macaroni salad, garlic bread, raspberry pie.

[The smell of the food is so endearing to Jimmy that it is enough to make his mouth start
watering and his stomach to start growling yet again. Soon, Eleanor has gotten the food
all prepared, as she starts to serve some of the food to Arliss, Terrence, Gertie, Maura,
and Daryl, before she also has some for herself. Eleanor also gives some bowls of water to
the animals. Jimmy then looks up hungrily at Eleanor after that. This causes Eleanor to
put the rest of the food into a huge pile onto a plate before setting it on the floor in
front of Jimmy, and also giving him a bowl of water.]

Eleanor: Here you go, Jimmy.

[Jimmy is elated when he sees the plate of food being placed in front of him, as he licks
his lips in delight, before he eagerly starts to dig in, happy to have the chance to eat
at last.]

Jimmy: Oh, this is delicious.

[Jimmy still eats his share of the food, all while munching and slurping happily while
giving off moans of pleasure while eating the food. Arliss eats his share of the food
when he hears Jimmy moaning happily while still happily eating the food that he was
given. This causes Arliss to give off a short growl of anger before he too resumes
eating his meal as well. After dinner, Eleanor is now cleaning the dishes once she
and the animals have finished eating. The animals have also finished eating, but none
of them are even more happier than Jimmy, who is now laying on his back next to one
side of the fireplace, looking very contented, now that his belly is comfortably full
and slightly bulged from the food that Eleanor had given him. Satisfied with the
prospect of having a belly full of food, Jimmy then turns himself around to rest
himself against the wall while still laying next to the fireplace, just as Arliss
comes up to him with a stern look on his face after that, just as Jimmy gives off
a contented sigh.]

Arliss: Is your belly full, stranger?

Jimmy: Oh, is it ever. That was the best meal I've ever eaten in my life. *rubs his
full belly with one paw after that* Mmmmmmmmm, I had no idea that Eleanor was such
a great cook. *pats his full belly afterwards* I cannot remember the last time I've
ever eaten this much to fill up my belly.

Arliss: Sure you're happy now, but has it ever occurred to you that there's more to
life than just eating?

Jimmy: Well, yeah.

Arliss: Eleanor may be good at cooking food to serve to us animals, but she does more
than that for us. She helps to make sure that we're feeling well. In my opinion, you're
nothing but a self-serving jackal who is only interested in eating.

Jimmy: Well, that's not entirely true, Arliss.

Arliss: I'm not finished yet, stranger. The point I'm trying to make is that there are
more important things in life than just filling up your belly with whatever food that
you can get your hands on.

[Arliss then pokes Jimmy's full food-filled belly with one finger while he says this,
which only makes Jimmy feel even more troubled.]

Jimmy: What's more important than that? I was hungry and I needed food.

Arliss: *growls in anger* You just don't get it, do you? Also, that notch in your
ear, that's a sign of an animal who lacks any steadfastness.

[Jimmy is once again shocked once he hears Arliss make comments about the notch in
his ear, which saddens him once again. Arliss then leaves after that, leaving Jimmy,
who is still saddened about what Arliss had told him about his love of eating and
especially about the notch in his left ear. Tears then form in his eyes after that
in sadness. Eleanor comes back into the room in time to see Jimmy looking really
saddened while quietly sobbing to himself.]

Eleanor: Jimmy, what seems to be the trouble?

Jimmy: *sobbing* Arliss thinks that I'm self-serving, and he made fun of this notch
in my ear.

Eleanor: Now, now, Jimmy, you're not self-serving. Just don't pay any attention to
what Arliss says. I think that notch in your ear makes you look noble.

Jimmy: Yeah, right. Try telling that to the other animals that made fun of my ear.
I don't even remember how I got this notch in my ear, but I wish that I didn't have
it.

[Eleanor feels sorry for Jimmy before she places one hand on Jimmy's shoulder to
comfort him.]

Eleanor: Jimmy, does it matter whether you have that notch in your ear or not?

Jimmy: Uh...

Eleanor: It doesn't. What matters more is that God made you wonderful in his own
way. Sometimes, we just have to remember not to feel insecure just because others
tease us about our differences, whether we're born with them or if they've been
inflicted on us.

Jimmy: But what about Arliss?

Eleanor: Like I said before, don't worry about Arliss. He may have made you feel
insecure, but even he has his own insecurities that he cannot escape.

[After a few seconds, Jimmy starts to feel better as he wipes his eyes with his
paw after that.]

Eleanor: Feel better now?

Jimmy: You know what? I think I do now. Thanks, Eleanor. *smiles*

[Eleanor also smiles back at Jimmy after that, happy that Jimmy feels better after
the little talk that she gave him.]

Jimmy: I really do miss my friends, especially my brother, Jerry.

Eleanor: It sounds like that you really love your brother a lot, Jimmy.

Jimmy: I do. I remember all of the things that we would do together, we would play
together, and especially eat together.

Eleanor: *chuckles* I'm glad to hear that you love your brother. Now come, it's
getting late, and I'll fix you a place to sleep for tonight.

Jimmy: *yawns* Thanks, Eleanor. I am really tired after all.

[Eleanor has soon placed the box next to a window for Jimmy to sleep in. After
climbing onto the windowsill and getting into the box, Jimmy looks up at the dark
night sky, with the stars twinkling in the sky, as he thinks about his friends back
home in Pinnacle Forest.]

Jimmy: Good night, Jerry.

[The scene then transitions to Jerry, who is also looking up at the stars in the
sky as well.]

Jerry: Good night, Jimmy.

[Jerry then curls up on the ground to go to sleep, before the scene transitions back
at Eleanor's cabin, as Jimmy also curls up in the box to go to sleep as well. The next
morning, Jimmy has woken up as he yawns and stretches, before finding that his stomach
has gone empty overnight, having digested the food that he had eaten for supper the
previous night. Eleanor then walks in to see that Jimmy is awake.]

Eleanor: I'm glad to see that you're awake, Jimmy. How are you feeling now?

Jimmy: *rubs his stomach with both paws* Hungry.

Eleanor: *chuckles* Well, I've just gotten breakfast started. I'm making bacon, eggs,
and biscuits and gravy.

[Jimmy licks his lips at the thought of all of this food, before he then climbs out
from the box after that. After approaching the kitchen, Jimmy finds himself met with
the delicious smell of bacon, eggs, and biscuits and gravy, which he really enjoys.
Arliss, Terrence, Gertie, Maura, and Daryl also approach the kitchen as well, just
as Arliss turns to look at Jimmy after that with a stern look on his face.]

Arliss: Look, stranger, you don't belong here, and you never will.

Terrence: Come on, Arliss, don't be so hard on the new guy!

Daryl: Yeah, he can't help being different, even if he does have that notch in his
ear.

Gertie: Yes, I think that notch makes him look distinguished.

Maura: Not to mention debonair and valiant too.

[Jimmy is a bit surprised that Terrence, Daryl, Gertie, and Maura are defending him
about the notch in his ear, before he becomes happy, realizing that he shouldn't be
ashamed about his ear notch anymore.]

Jimmy: They're right, Arliss. You may contain mocking me and making fun of me because
I'm a stranger and the fact that I have a notch in my ear, but I know now that I shouldn't
let your cruel words bring me down and make me feel insecure. Besides, Eleanor told me
that you have your own insecurities as well.

[Arliss then becomes surprised when he hears Jimmy says this, as he tries to deny it,
but finds that he can't, before he realizes that Jimmy is right.]

Arliss: *sighs* I'm almost ashamed to admit it, Jimmy, but you do have a point. I guess
the reason I have distrust for almost everyone around me is because I was ostracized
by the other servals in my family, because they thought that I was a weakling. Their
cruel words about me made me feel insecure, so I tried to make myself tougher by
not trusting anyone around me. The only exception being Eleanor when she found me
all alone.

[Before the conversation can continue even further, Eleanor has gotten breakfast all
ready.]

Eleanor: Breakfast!

[Jimmy becomes excited when he hears that breakfast is ready. Eleanor then serves bacon,
eggs, gravy and biscuits, and bowls of milk to the animals as they start to eat the food
that was served to them. Jimmy eagerly gobbles up his share of the food. Meanwhile, Bob,
Larry, Jerry, Aristotle, and Isabella have also resumed their search for Jimmy, but still
can't find him anywhere, even when they call out his name.]

Isabella: Aristotle, we've looked everywhere, but we haven't found Jimmy anywhere.

[Jerry is still worried about his brother, while Bob and Larry try to comfort him.]

Bob: Don't worry, Jerry, we'll find him.

Larry: Yeah, I'm sure that Jimmy is just fine.

[Jerry feels a little bit better after that, knowing that Bob and Larry are right and that
they will find Jimmy soon enough.]

Aristotle: I will fly ahead and try to find Jimmy. The rest of you wait here until I get
back.

[Aristotle then flies ahead deeper into the forest, while Bob, Larry, Jerry, and Isabella
watch on. However, what they do not know is that Juodas, who has returned from getting
catapulted across the forest, is now stalking towards the group.]

Juodas: That potbelly will pay for this, once I take care of his friends! *chuckles*

[Back at Eleanor's cabin, after the animals have finished breakfast, Eleanor then lets
the animals outside so that they can get some exercise and fresh air for a while. While
outside, Jimmy looks up at the cliff that he had fallen down, all while wondering if
his friends are looking for him. Eleanor then walks up to Jimmy after that.]

Eleanor: Is everything okay, Jimmy?

Jimmy: Oh, I'm just fine, Eleanor. I'm just wondering if my friends are looking for me.

Eleanor: I'm sure that they are, dear. Just don't worry too much about it.

[From above, Aristotle continues flying until he comes to the same cliff that Jimmy had
fallen off the previous day, before seeing the cabin down at the bottom of the cliff,
which he is able to recognize.]

Aristotle: I recognize this place. That's Eleanor's cabin.

[When Aristotle looks again, he looks down in time to see Arliss, Terrence, Gertie, Maura,
and Daryl, before also looking in time to see Jimmy down below. Aristotle becomes surprised
then happy when he sees that he was able to find Jimmy.]

Aristotle: There's Jimmy! He must've come here to Eleanor's cabin.

[Aristotle then begins to fly down towards the ground, just as Jimmy looks up in time to
see Aristotle flying down, which he is surprised to see.]

Jimmy: Aristotle?

[Aristotle then lands on the ground in front of Jimmy, happy that he has found Jimmy after
looking for him.]

Aristotle: There you are, Jimmy, thank goodness you're okay.

Jimmy: Of course I'm okay, Aristotle.

Aristotle: We've been looking all over for you.

Jimmy: We?

Aristotle: Isabella, Bob, Larry, Jerry, and myself have been looking for you after I saw
you get chased by Juodas yesterday.

[Eleanor then comes outside to see how the animals are doing, before she becomes surprised
when she sees Aristotle, as Aristotle is also surprised to see Eleanor.]

Eleanor: Aristotle, so good to see you again.

Aristotle: The same for you too, Eleanor.

[Jimmy is surprised when he discovers that Aristotle and Eleanor know each other.]

Jimmy: You know each other?

Aristotle: Yes, Jimmy, Eleanor once helped me when I broke my wing years ago. It was thanks
to her knowledge in healing that my wing was all healed up.

[Once realizing that Aristotle was able to find him, Jimmy begins to realize that it is time
for him to leave as he sadly turns to Eleanor after that.]

Jimmy: Well, I guess this means that I'll be leaving now, Eleanor. I'm really going to miss
you and your cooking.

Eleanor: I will miss you too, Jimmy. Any time you want to come visit me, just drop by whenever
you want. But not literally, of course.

Jimmy: *chuckles* Yeah, I know what you mean.

Aristotle: Come, Jimmy. Let's go home.

[Aristotle and Jimmy start to leave after that, while Jimmy waves goodbye to Eleanor, who
waves back. Even Arliss, Terrence, Gertie, Maura, and Daryl wave back as well. Aristotle
then grabs Jimmy by his arms as he starts to carry him back up the cliff, despite Jimmy's
weight.]

Aristotle: I'm surprised that you ended up at Eleanor's cabin, Jimmy. How did that even
happen anyway?

Jimmy: Juodas chased me through the deeper parts of the forest after I got teased for the
notch in my ear. Luckily, Eleanor was able to help me understand that we needed to overcome
our insecurities to embrace our differences.

Aristotle: That's true, Jimmy. After all, God has made us special in his image and we have
to learn to accept who and what we are.

[After flying for several minutes, Aristotle has managed to make it back up to the edge
of the cliff before he places Jimmy on the ground once again. At that moment, Isabella
then runs up to Aristotle and Jimmy while looking very worried.]

Aristotle: Isabella, what seems to be the trouble?

Isabella: Thank goodness I caught up with you, Aristotle! It's Juodas! He ambushed us
while we were waiting for you to come back from looking for Jimmy! And I can see that
you found Jimmy.

Jimmy: Hi, Isabella.

Isabella: I was able to escape, but Bob, Larry, and Jerry are cornered by Juodas.

[Aristotle and Jimmy are both surprised after Isabella makes this report. Despite this,
Jimmy realizes that he now knows what to do to save his friends and his brother from
Juodas's wrath.]

Jimmy: Juodas may have chased me off yesterday, but I'm ready for him now. This time,
the worm is gonna turn!

[Meanwhile, Bob, Larry, and Jerry have found themselves cornered by Juodas, who is
preparing to strike.]

Larry: What do we do now, Bob?!?

Bob: I-I'm not sure, Larry!

Jerry: Jimmy! Where are you?!?

Juodas: *cackles* I may have failed to catch that notch-eared potbelly, but maybe this
time I'll be able to do to you what I couldn't do to him yesterday!

[Before Juodas can attack, the sound of Jimmy yelling is suddenly heard before Jimmy
suddenly lands onto Juodas's back, which causes Juodas to fall over as he tries to
get Jimmy off of his back. Bob, Larry, and Jerry are surprised and happy when they
see that Jimmy has been found and that he has come to save them. Aristotle and Isabella
then show up afterwards in time to see Jimmy fighting back against Juodas. Juodas tries
to bite Jimmy's tail, but Jimmy is able to bite Juodas's left front paw, which gives
Juodas a lot of pain. Juodas flips Jimmy over as he tries to bite Jimmy, though Jimmy
is able to evade getting bitten, but Juodas does smack him with his paw.]

Juodas: You may have escaped me yesterday, Notch Ear, but you won't be so lucky this
time! Besides, your ear notch makes you a weakling!

Jimmy: That doesn't bother me anymore, Juodas! I've learned to overcome my insecurities
about my differences!

Juodas: *growls* Then so be it!

[Juodas swipes his claws at Jimmy, only nicking an inch within the top of Jimmy's
stomach. Jimmy is able to smack Juodas back with his paw, which only makes Juodas
even more angrier. Juodas leaps forward with his jaws open and his teeth exposed,
but this time, Jimmy is able to duck down just as Juodas runs over him, before
he flips Juodas into the air, as Juodas ends up flipping across the ground before
he falls off the cliff while screaming in anguish as he hits the rocks on the side
of the cliff before landing in the nearby stream at the bottom of the cliff as
he gets swept away by the current. After Juodas has been defeated once again,
Jimmy feels satisfied with his victory, before Jerry happily runs over to him,
as the two jackal brothers hug each other, happy that they are back together
again.]

Jerry: Jimmy, I missed you so much!

Jimmy: I missed you too, Jerry!

Bob: Where were you, Jimmy?

Larry: Yeah, we looked all over for you.

Jimmy: Well, guys, it's a long story.

[Jimmy then proceeds to tell Bob, Larry, Jerry, Aristotle, and Isabella the story
about how he was suffering from insecurity due to the notch in his ear after some
of the animals teased him about it, and how he got chased by Juodas until he ended
up finding himself in the presence of a kindly old woman named Eleanor who takes
care of animals that were sick or hurt. He even tells them about how Eleanor was
able to help him learn to overcome his insecurities about his difference. Jimmy
then prepares to conclude his story.]

Jimmy: And it was thanks to Aristotle that I was now prepared to come home.

Bob: That's a nice story, Jimmy. We're all happy that you have learned to overcome
your insecurities.

Aristotle: He's right, Jimmy. As I've explained before, as did Eleanor, God made us
special in his own image and he wants us to embrace how we're made and to not feel
insecure just because of how different we are. Fortunately for us, this is the reason
that the bible tells us, "Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by
the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God,
what is good and acceptable and perfect. Romans 12:2".

[Jimmy then realizes that Aristotle is right after being told this verse.]

Jimmy: Yeah, I know that now, Aristotle. I shouldn't worry too much about whether
everyone else makes fun of the notch in my ear. I should remember that God made
me how I am.

Aristotle: Exactly.

[Once that's over, the group all begins to head home after that, though Jimmy can't
help but think about how much Eleanor was so kind to him, remembering how Eleanor
was able to take care of him, such as treating his wounds, giving him food when he
was hungry, and especially how she helped him to understand to embrace his differences.
The next morning, at the home of Jimmy and Jerry, Jimmy is the first one to wake up,
before he comes up with an idea. Jimmy then wakes up Jerry after he comes up with his
idea.]

Jimmy: Jerry, wake up!

Jerry: Uh, what?

Jimmy: We're going on a little trip today!

Jerry: Where are we going?

Jimmy: You'll see.

[After the two jackal brothers have had breakfast, they then leave their home before
they start to trek through the deeper parts of Pinnacle Forest, towards the direction
of the cliff that overlooks where Eleanor's cabin stands. While the two jackal brothers
are traveling through the deep parts of the forest, the sparrows and the rabbits from
yesterday are able to spot Jimmy as they proceed to make fun of the notch in his ear
once again.]

Sparrow # 1: Well, well, well, if it isn't the notch-eared weakling again!

Rabbit # 1: Yeah, still haven't got that notch fixed, huh?

Jimmy: *nonchalantly* Hi, how're ya doing?

[The sparrows and the rabbits become shocked and surprised when they see that Jimmy
was not affected by their teasing about his notch ear. Jimmy and Jerry have soon made
it to the cliff that overlooks Eleanor's cabin, as the two jackal brothers start to
climb down the cliff, before making it down to the bottom as they both start to walk
towards the cabin. After the two jackals have approached the cabin, Jimmy then starts
to knock on the door, as the door then opens up a few seconds later to reveal Eleanor,
who becomes happy when she sees that Jimmy has returned.]

Eleanor: Jimmy, I'm so glad to see that you have come back for a visit.

Jimmy: Eleanor, I'd like you to meet my brother Jerry. I brought him here so that he
could meet you.

Jerry: Hi there, Eleanor.

Eleanor: So, you must be Jerry. Your brother told me so much about you.

[Jerry then blushes when Eleanor says these words to him.]

Eleanor: Come on in, you two. I have lunch cooking on the stove, grilled cheese sandwiches
and minestrone soup. How does that sound?

Jimmy: That sounds delicious, Eleanor.

Jerry: Very delicious, we accept!

[Eleanor then lets Jimmy and Jerry come in so that they could join her for lunch, as Eleanor
then closes the door after that, before the screen then goes dark, ending the episode.]

Happy Halloween, everyone! Today, I now bring Episode 5 of Season 2 of Veggie Animals. I kinda wrote this episode to reflect on my days back in school when the kids at school would tease me about my Asperger's Syndrome and my love of Garfield, and that would make me feel insecure. Besides, I feel that this is a lesson that every kid should learn.

Synopsis: When Jimmy ends up getting teased by some of the other animals of Pinnacle Forest for the notch in his left ear, this causes Jimmy to become emotionally inflicted with insecurity issues about his ear. Things end up getting worse when Juodas shows up and starts chasing Jimmy through the deeper parts of the forest, until Jimmy ends up in the company of a kindly old woman named Eleanor, who helps Jimmy realize that he is still special the way he is. Jimmy returns to Pinnacle Forest and is able to save Bob, Larry, and Jerry from getting attacked by Juodas, who had returned, all while learning about the importance of shedding insecurity to embrace your differences.

A lesson in: Dealing With Insecurity

Focus animal(s): Jimmy
