Episode 57: In The Darkest Of The Night

Bucky: Whamon continued to take us across the ocean, when we came to an island
where a Digimon called Plesiomon and his Divermon friends lived. This meeting
was short-lived when a group of Shellmon, MoriShellmon, Octomon, and Onikamamon
showed up to challenge us to a fight! It seemed as if we were an even match against
these water-dwelling creepoids, but it turned out that they actually outnumbered
us in great numbers! Fortunately for us, we were joined up by an aquatic god Digimon
by the name of Neptunmon, who was able to help us trounce the underwater freaks for
good! When we learned from him that Sotonamon lived in a place called the Continent
of Darkness, he gave us a ride when Whamon wussed out along with Plesiomon and the
Divermon! Good help is so hard to find these days.

Back at Sotonamon's lair, which was revealed to be located right in the middle of
the Continent of Darkness, Roccorro and Fungo had met up with the mysterious figure,
who was obviously displeased with their failure to destroy the Digidestined and the
Housepets and the new recruits again. Rock and Fungo stood before their master, since
they were upset with their failure to carry out their master's plans.

"You two idiots better have a good reason why the Digidestined and their friends are
still roaming about out there in the Digital World," The mysterious figure fumed angrily.

"It wasn't my fault, sir! It was Fungo, he underestimated the Digidestined's powers!"
Rock pleaded.

"Don't pin the blame on me, Roccorro!" Fungo said angrily. "Master, it was Roccorro who
underestimated the Digidestined!"

"Enough! I do not want to hear any more of your pathetic excuses! Because of your
inability to destroy the Digidestined and the Housepets, they are nearing closer to
our lair!" The mysterious figure said angrily.

"How dare you say that it's my fault! If you hadn't overlooked Socrates' little yellow
friend, then we would've squashed the Digidestined easily!" Rock snarled angrily.

"Well, Bucky Katt and his friends are obviously the ones to blame! After all, Bucky is
the one who tried to snare me in that trap years ago! And I still have his tooth right
here," Fungo said as he held out his necklace, in which Bucky's tooth, which had gotten
knocked out years ago, still dangled around his neck.

"You're right, Fungo. Once I'm through with Socrates and his friends, I'll soon have his
pelt as a brand new vest," Rock said as he gave off an evil grin.

"Exactly, and once I actually get Bucky out of the way, then I'll do the same thing to
Satchel pooch as well," Fungo said after that.

"Then, you two better stop flapping your jaws and get out there and try to stop those
humans before they come here!" The mysterious figure said angrily.

"At once, Master Sotonamon! Fungo and I have come up with a brand new plan to obliterate
the Digidestined and the Housepets once and for all!" Rock said.

"Yes, and it is a grand plan, sir," Fungo added after that.

The mysterious figure then listened with interest as Rock and Fungo began to explain their
plan to him about how they were to stop the Digidestined and the Housepets and the new
recruits from trying to destroy him. Once the mysterious figure heard this plan from the
black-furred bobcat and the ferret, he grinned with delight, before telling them both to
go out and carry out this plan. After Rock and Fungo left, the mysterious figure then
gave off an evil grin afterwards.

The Digidestined and the Housepets and the new recruits continued traveling through the
Continent of Darkness, still on their way to see if they could try to find Sotonamon and
fight and defeat him once they find him. Even though the Digidestined (minus Chris and
Joy) were filled with unpleasant memories of the Continent of Darkness, they knew that
they shouldn't let these negative feelings overcome their true feelings. They had to
keep up their hope if they were to save the Digital World and all of the friendly Digimon
that lived in the Digital World.

"I can't believe we had to come back to this creepy place again," JP said.

"The rest of us feel that way too, JP, but this is the place that Neptunmon said that
Sotonamon is hiding," Koji said.

"But Joy and I have never been here to the Continent of Darkness," Chris said.

"At least you two don't have to worry about having to deal with being here for so long,"
Takuya said.

"Yeah, the last time we came here, we had to deal with Duskmon, Mercuremon, Ranamon,
and Cherubimon," Zoe said after that.

"But we dealt with Duskmon and the others that you mentioned," Joy said.

"Yeah, but you never had to deal with Cherubimon when he was evil," Koichi said.

"What is so bad about Cherubimon being evil anyway?" Garfield asked.

"That's what the rest of us like to know," Floyd said after that.

The Digidestined then explained to Chris, Joy, the Housepets, and the new recruits that
long ago, back when the Digidestined first came to the Digital World, they were reminded
by Ophanimon that they were to find and defeat Cherubimon in order to save the Digital
World from his evil reign. Once the Digidestined were able to defeat Cherubimon after
Takuya and Koji were granted the power to Unity Evolve to EmperorGreymon and MagnaGarurumon,
they later discovered that Cherubimon had actually been under the control of Lucemon, a
Rookie-level angelic Digimon who grew mad with power and sought to take control of the
Digital World. Lucemon had also enlisted the help of two Digimon called Dynasmon and
Crusadermon, known as the Royal Knights, to collect data of different areas of the
Digital World in order to resurrect Lucemon. The Royal Knights had scanned all of the
data of the Digital World, bringing Lucemon back to life, which forced the Digidestined
to retreat to one of the Digital World's moons. After confronting Dynasmon and Crusadermon
one last time, EmperorGreymon and MagnaGarurumon were finally able to defeat them in
battle, but before they could scan the Royal Knights' Fractal Code, Lucemon scanned
the Fractal Code, which enabled him to Mode Change to his Chaos Mode.

"Didn't we fight against the Royal Knights long ago?" Nermal asked.

"Yes, because Dynasmon and Crusadermon never had their souls purified, they were still
evil," Bokomon said.

"But didn't they get their souls purified at last when we beat them?" Socramon asked.

"Yes, Socramon, they have," Bokomon answered.

"But they also had Digimon we never saw before too," Neemon said after that.

"You are right, Neemon. Dynasmon and Crusadermon were also accompanied by Gallantmon,
Omnimon, Magnamon, and UlforceVeedramon," Azatoimon said.

"That's right, now that I think about it," Strikedramon said while Wranglermon nodded
in agreement after that.

Before the conversation could continue any further, however, the gang suddenly heard the
sound of flapping wings start coming towards them. At first, they all thought that an
enemy Digimon sent by Sotonamon had come to fight them, but when they looked up, they
saw a stork-like Digimon with cream-colored feathers all over his body, had a gray
shield on the front of his body with the symbol of Love on it, had long spindly legs
with Veedramon Zero-like feet, similar to that of Socramon's, had a patch of orange
feathers on his back and black stripes on his back, black eyes, and carried a wrapped-
up cloth in his long beak, much like a stereotypical carrier stork.

Cloutmon: No need to worry, that's Storkmon! He's a friendly bird Digimon who specializes
in airborne deliveries of any sort! Although he likes delivering to other Digimon, he can
really give his enemies a fierce delivery with his Delivery Gift attack!

Storkmon then flew down until he landed on the ground right in front of the Digidestined
and the Housepets and the new recruits. After Storkmon landed, he then walked right up
to the gang.

"Yes, may we help you?" Takuya asked.

"Are you the Digidestined children chosen by the Great Angels to save the Digital World?"
Storkmon asked in an Ed Wynn-esque voice.

"Yes, that would be us," Koji said.

"What do you want anyway?" JP asked after that.

"I've been sent here by the Great Angels to give you this little present from them,"
Storkmon said.

"Ooooohhh! Presents! I love presents!" Neemon said giddily.

Storkmon then reached into the cloth that hung from his beak, before pulling out a long
tube of rolled-up paper and handed it to the gang. Once his job was done, Storkmon then
flew off before he went back the way he came. The Digidestined and the Housepets and the
new recruits were able to unroll the paper, before seeing that it was a motivational
poster that read:

DON'T GIVE UP, DIGIDESTINED AND HOUSEPETS!

The paper also had various hand or paw prints that had been plastered on the paper in
different colors of paint. The gang were rather impressed with the paint prints on the
paper, recognizing them as the hand or paw prints of most of their Digimon friends.

"Look at that, Gotsumon did that one," Koji said while looking at a yellow handprint.

"The Moshamon did these ones," Joy said while looking at four three-fingered prints
that were colored green, orange, brown, and gray, respectively.

"So did Torikmon and Hangmon," Chris said while looking at two pawprints, one colored
blue and the other colored red.

"These ones are from the Toucanmon," Tommy said while looking at four wing prints,
which were colored red, purple, pink, and yellow, respectively.

The Digidestined and the Housepets and the new recruits were able to recognize more
colored hand and paw prints that were done by the Gizamon, Nohemon, Badgemon, Datamon,
WarGrowlmon, Taomon, Freezlemon, DemiCybermon, Andromon, Profumomon, Paramon, Drovermon,
etc. Moments later, they suddenly heard their D-Tectors beeping, before hearing a familiar
voice.

"Digidestined and Housepets," Ophanimon said from the Digidestined's D-Tectors.

"It's Ophanimon," Tommy said.

"I wonder what she's calling about this time?" Zoe asked.

"We want to congratulate you for making it this far in your journey. I really hope that
you've received our gift by this time now," Ophanimon said.

"Well, thanks, Ophanimon. But we gotta ask, what's with the poster anyway?" JP asked.

"Since we have been watching your progress from afar, we figured that this poster would
give you the motivation needed to help you defeat Sotonamon," Seraphimon answered as his
symbol appeared on the screen after that.

"Yes, and we have also asked a lot of the Digimon that you befriended in the past to show
you their support," Cherubimon added as his symbol also appeared as well.

"And because all of the Digimon that you helped and befriended were obligated to you for
all that you've done for them in the past, we asked them to take part in offering their
support in fighting against Sotonamon and his evil forces. In addition, being that Sotonamon
is far more powerful than Lucemon, Lunardramon, and Chaosdramon combined, we figured that
they would be willing to help out in the battle," Ophanimon said.

At the same time that Seraphimon, Cherubimon, and Ophanimon had been explaining this, all
of the various Digimon that the Digidestined and the Housepets and the new recruits had
helped out and befriended in the past each looked up, hoping that they would offer their
support for the gang. Datamon stood outside of his store at the Autumn Leaf Fair, the
Toucanmon stood on the beach next to their beach resort, the Gizamon all stood next to
the tree that stood next to the pond, Nohemon and Badgemon both stood next to the Popper
Corn field, Polarimon and Burrowmon both stood on the shore of the underground island
while in the Digital World's center core, Shurimon and Jagamon stood in the middle of
the forest, Profumomon stood next to her cabin, Paramon also stood next to his cabin,
Gotsumon looked up while standing out in an open field, Torikmon and Hangmon both looked
up while standing next to some bushes, and the Moshamon and all of the other Circus
Digimon looked ahead while standing on the cloud where their circus tent was. After
the Great Angels finished this explanation, the Digidestined and the Housepets and
the new recruits thanked them for the gift, before the signal went away afterwards.

"Well, that was thoughtful of the Great Angels to give us this poster," Koichi said.

"Yeah, but I still don't understand why they would go through all this trouble to have
all of our Digimon friends do this for us," JP said.

"Well, it's obvious that because we've helped all of the good Digimon from the problems
they've been having, they probably decided to return the favor," Chris answered.

"That's right, Chris. After all, when you help someone, isn't it important that they
repay what you've done for them?" Joy asked.

"Yes, Joy, gratitude is one of the most important aspects of life," Phasmamon answered.

"And when we're not grateful, then we don't care about the problems of others, and that
can lead to problems," Oburmon added after that.

"Oh, isn't that such an emotional speech? It makes me want to blow!" The gang heard a
familiar sinister voice say.

The Digidestined and the Housepets and the new recruits all turned in surprise in time
to see Rock and Fungo standing off to the side with evil grins on their faces. Everyone
became angry when they saw that Rock and Fungo had returned once again.

"Roccorro!" Sock growled angrily.

"And Fungo!" Bucky growled angrily after that.

"Surprise again, Digidestined and Housepets," Rock said while giving off a sadistic
chuckle.

"Man, you creeps just don't know when to leave us alone, do you?!?" Takuya asked angrily.

"No, we do not. Not until we destroy you for good," Rock answered.

"If you think that you'll keep us from trying to find Sotonamon, you must be crazy!" Sock
said angrily after that.

"On the contrary, Socrates, some friends of ours have something to say to that," Rock said.

Before anyone could react, a large group of Digimon suddenly appeared right next to both
Rock and Fungo. The Digidestined and the Housepets and the new recruits all became surprised
when they saw all of these Digimon appear next to Rock and Fungo. There was a group of
Devidramon, a group of Negatimon, a group of Baskermon, a Digimon looking something like
a vampire with pale blue skin all over his body, wore a navy blue suit with gold buttons
and gold trims on the front, green cuffs on the sleeves of his suit, wore a maroon bat-
shaped mask on his face, had blonde hair, a pair of black boots with skulls and crossbones
on them, gray gloves on his hands, and wore a black and red cape on his back.

Another Digimon looked something like a cross between a dragon and an excavator with a long
neck like that of a steam shovel, had dark tan skin all over his body, powerful claws like
steam shovels that were colored dark green with orange claws on them, dark green armor on his
knees and feet with orange claws on his feet, a green and orange steam shovel mounted on the
front of his body, a drill in the center of his face, three drills sticking up on his back,
and had two tails with two drills on the tips.

There was also a Digimon that looked something like a demonic version of a WarGreymon with
black armor all over his body, had gray armor on his head that obscured his face except for
his gold eyes, a pair of slightly crooked horns on his head, two crooked blades sticking
out from his shoulders, wielded a pair of sharp swords in both hands, red trimmings on his
armor, and had powerful claws on his feet.

Another Digimon that was part of Rock and Fungo's troupe looked something like a large deinonychus
with green scales on his back, a yellow-green underbelly, had red-brown eyes, long claws on his
feet, and especially had long claws on his feet, with two really long blade-like claws sticking
out from his middle toes.

There were also a Minotarumon, a group of Triceramon, a PileVolcamon, a group of Phelesmon, and
a group of Mummymon. The Digidestined and the Housepets and the new recruits were all shocked
when they saw all of these Digimon that had been hired by Rock and Fungo. This time, the gang
knew that it was personal when dealing with Rock and Fungo. With that, the Digidestined all
pulled out their D-Tectors and prepared to do their Spirit Evolution, while the Housepets were
preparing to become their Elemental Principle forms. Likewise, the new recruits were also ready
to become their Digimon forms, while the Rookies were preparing to Digivolve, and Azatoimon and
the others were ready to Digivolve to their Ultimate forms.

"Execute! Swift Spirit Evolution!" The Digidestined shouted altogether as they began to perform
their Swift Spirit Evolution sequences.

Takuya Swift Spirit Evolved into the Swift Warrior of Flame, before announcing his name, "HyperGreymon!"

Koji Swift Spirit Evolved into the Swift Warrior of Light, before announcing his name, "AlphaGarurumon!"

Tommy Swift Spirit Evolved into the Swift Warrior of Ice, before announcing his name, "Iciclemon!"

Zoe Swift Spirit Evolved into the Swift Warrior of Wind, before announcing her name, "Castmon!"

JP Swift Spirit Evolved into the Swift Warrior of Thunder, before announcing his name, "SupremeKabuterimon!"

Koichi Swift Spirit Evolved into the Swift Warrior of Darkness, before announcing his name, "BehersztLowemon!"

Chris Swift Spirit Evolved into the Swift Warrior of Sky, before announcing his name, "CovertGryphonmon!"

Joy Swift Spirit Evolved into the Swift Warrior of Heart, before announcing her name, "Heatranimon!"

The Housepets were next as they started turning into the Elemental Principles.

"Flame of Determination!" Garfield was covered in the flaming Fractal Code bands before becoming the
Principle of the Flame of Determination. "Pardalimon!"

"Light of Humility!" Nermal was covered in the shining Fractal Code bands before becoming the Principle
of the Light of Humility. "Luminamon!"

"Ice of Prudence!" Floyd was covered in the snow-covered Fractal Code bands before becoming the Principle
of the Ice of Prudence. "Ratomon!"

"Wind of Sympathy!" Arlene was covered in the wind-surrounded Fractal Code bands before becoming the
Principle of the Wind of Sympathy. "Uraganomon!"

"Thunder of Loyalty!" Odie was covered in the electrified Fractal Code bands before becoming the Principle
of the Thunder of Loyalty. "Voltamon!"

"Darkness of Integrity!" Max was covered in the shadow-shrouded Fractal Code bands before becoming the
Principle of the Darkness of Integrity. "Twilimon!"

"Sky of Respect!" Jeffrey was covered in the cloud-shrouded Fractal Code bands before becoming the Principle
of the Sky of Respect. "Atmosmon!"

"Heart of Trust!" Tanya was covered in the heart-coated Fractal Code bands before becoming the Principle of
the Heart of Trust. "Lovaressmon!"

The Rookies were next as they began to perform their Warp Digivolutions, since most of the evil Digimon that
Rock and Fungo had on their side were at the Mega level.

"Apteryxmon! Warp Digivolve to.... Eaglemon!"

"Pommon! Warp Digivolve to.... Lurchermon!"

"Socramon! Warp Digivolve to.... KnightCheetahmon!"

"Manxmon! Warp Digivolve to.... Smilomon!"

"Orchidmon! Warp Digivolve to.... Ouroborosmon!"

"Kunemon! Warp Digivolve to.... Dolichomon!"

"Gabumon! Warp Digivolve to.... ZeedGarurumon!"

"Marinemon! Warp Digivolve to.... Cadboromon!"

Sock, Ari, Bucky, Satchel, Hank, Drover, Snoopy, and Woodstock were next as they also became their Digimon
forms. Sock became Sockiomon, Ari became Aristomon, Bucky became Mezonimon, Satchel became Butomon, Hank
became Bandidomon, Drover became Desperadmon, Snoopy became Perromon, and Woodstock became Glidemon. At
the same time that happened, Rock and Fungo had also became Rockillimon and Gluipemon afterwards. Then,
when Rockillimon and Gluipemon DNA Digivolved to Harciamon again, Sockiomon and Aristomon DNA Digivolved
to Feraldramon, Mezonimon and Butomon DNA Digivolved to Christiamon, Bandidomon and Desperadmon DNA
Digivolved to Durangomon, and Perromon and Glidemon DNA Digivolved to Balanmon. Azatoimon, Strikedramon,
Phasmamon, Viscomon, Cloutmon, Tolanmon, Oburmon, and Wranglermon were last on the roster as they also
prepared to Digivolve to their Ultimate forms.

"Strikedramon! Digivolve to.... Cyberdramon!"

"Phasmamon! Digivolve to.... Mistymon!"

"Viscomon! Digivolve to.... Skadimon!"

Once the gang had finished their respected evolutions, they were ready to fight against Harciamon and
his flunkies.
